Why are you involved with this organization?
Outing clubs and lodges profoundly affected my life and were instrumental in making me the person I am today. They provided a vehicle for outdoor experiential education along with the benefits of outdoor activities and meeting lifelong friends.

What are your favorite things to do in the White Mountains area?
I love hiking, especially in the late summer and fall!

Vice President – Doug Prescott

Why are you involved with this organization?
I have been involved with lodges and outdoor organizations for many years for countless reasons, including the joy of teamwork, the quiet satisfaction of accomplishment, and helping to build something amazing and long-lived. This has positively affected me personally along with so many others through camaraderie, learning & developing a wide variety of skills for life, and finding life-long friendships.

What are your favorite things to do in the White Mountains area?
The list of favorite things to do in the White Mountains is long indeed: the Connor Brook swimming hole, watching sunsets from the Lodge, Square Ledge, Lost Pond, a peaceful ski through an evergreen forest covered with new snow, Tuckerman Ravine in various seasons, the visual command of Crawford Notch from the summit of Mt. Willard, and sitting at the edge of Lonesome Lake at dusk remembering all of my family history there (including my first-ever hike in 1949!), to name just a few….

Treasurer- John Furtney

Why are you involved with this organization?
After spending most of my collegiate career in the woods and leaving with the best of friends (and a wife), I want to continue to make the outdoors accessible to all!

What are your favorite things to do in the White Mountains area?
I love bushwhacking to the most underrated peak in the northeast: Howe Peak!

Co-Secretary – Kate Fox

Why are you involved with this organization?
I was first introduced to lodges and outdoor organizations as a young child through my grandfather hiking to the Lonesome Lake AMC Hut and loved every moment of the adventure. I was heavily involved in my collegiate outing club and have brought all the lessons learned into my adult life (how else can you confidently learn to grocery shop and cook for 40+ people!). I continue to support the younger generations in teaching the invaluable skills and life’s joys that are best learned in the woods.

What are your favorite things to do in the White Mountains area?
I love canoeing, more specifically canoe camping! And you can’t beat the backcountry skiing access in and around the whites!
